Alexander Wang’s French Fashion House Take Over
After 15 years of working with the renowned French fashion house, Nicolas Ghesquiere, the now “previous” creative designer has left his seat vacant, and is ready for Alexander to fill as his successor.
The 28-year-old Alexander Wang is one of the designers who seem to have gained fame and success in a relatively short period of time, previously working under designers such as Marc Jacob and Derek Lam as an intern.
Some people would describe Alexander’s style as “edgy” “minimalistic” or “masculine”
which are the reasons that got him his new position, as reportedly said that the WWD is “dialing down the elitist couture-like approach that Nicolas had, and opening up to a broader audience of youth”
As for Nicolas, new rumors seem to circulate about what will happen, some suggest working with LVMH, the parent company to Balenciaga if he chooses to start his own label now.
I think this was a bit of a bold move, but I can’t seem to picture it fail, and I’m very excited to see what Alexander will come up with.
In the past 6 hours, new rumors about a collaboration have started circulating all over the internet, though rumors are still rumors, a collab with Givenchy doesn’t seem too far off, since the high street Swedish brand already made several collabs with different famous designers and fashion houses in the past. I really can’t wait if it’s true ! #givenchyxhm #handm #hmkuw #hmkw #hmusa #kuwait #fashion #blog
Trust me when I tell you, the “hound’s tooth” print is going to be SO HOT this winter, and I for one, simply cannot wait to dig through my mothers closet, I’m sure she has one.. “old is gold” but I’ll buy a new one just in case I don’t find a vintage one! Don’t say I didn’t tell you so!!!
My new found love, Balenciaga A4 Papier Magnetic Mini tote.
Comparing my yesterday’s love (Mini Pashli) and today’s Balenciaga, both are great but they’re very similar, so I have to pick one, because I’m not stupid enough to own two bags that look identical!
Now, I can get the the Phillip Lim which is less expensive, but on the other hand, Balenciaga is a really good brand and is more “known”, as for the Prada, I don’t think I want it anymore… What do you guys think? But the thing I like about it (prada) is that it’s tiny, cute, and can be worn with everything! Imagine what I would look like wearing sweats and a huge Balenciaga bag.. I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy them both, but not the same time, so the question that’s baffling me is “which bag should I buy first”
